YMCA of Silicon Valley is committed to ensuring that everyone—regardless of age, income, or background—has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. As part of this commitment, we dedicate resources to provide financial assistance for those who may need extra support. Through the generosity of our community and donors, the Y raises funds each year to help youth, adults, and families access membership and programs. Financial assistance awards are granted on a first-come, first-served basis, and are determined by individual needs and circumstances. Assistance remains available as long as funds allow. Application Process: Complete the process in-person at a YMCA location for Membership and online for Programs. Membership Financial Assistance - To request financial assistance, visit your Y branch to have a simple and confidential conversation about your household income. Our trained staff will help you identify a monthly membership rate that is accessible for you. In most cases, you will be approved on the spot and can begin using your membership right away. Program Financial Assistance: Please bring supporting documents to the nearest Y location. Applications will not be reviewed or approved if they are missing any of the information requested. Completion of the application does not guarantee approval of financial assistance. Day Camp, Afterschool, and Resident Camp applications are reviewed during designated application periods. The 2026 application period will begin on 11/1/2025. Award notifications begin 1/15/2026. Afterschool Application Period: 4/1-7/15. Award notifications begin 5/1/2026 Note: Afterschool financial assistance is awarded to families participating in YMCA Afterschool programs only. Awards for Youth Sports, Swimming, Teen, and Family programming are reviewed as submitted. Awards are extended 6 months at a time. Applicants must be 18+ years of age. Renewal Information: Pricing for program will return to full fee at end of award cycle. It is the participant responsibility to submit renewal documentation within 30 days of expiring financial assistance to be reviewed by staff. Program participants must re-apply every 6 months for Swim Lessons and Youth Sports and annually for Afterschool and Day Camp. It is the participant responsibility to re-apply.
